Frequently Asked Question

Got questions about partnering with EDIC? This FAQ gives quick answers on who we are, who we work with, our priority sectors, how funding and project prep work, and how we handle confidentiality. If you do not see your question here, tap Engage Us and we will help you directly.

What is EDIC and what do you do?

EDIC is a multi-stakeholder council that catalyzes investment and jobs in Greater Mombasa. We build project pipelines, de-risk opportunities, align policy, and connect credible partners and capital.

Local and international investors, businesses, policymakers, development partners, and industry associations. If you bring capital, capability, land, or market access, we want to work with you.

Logistics and port-linked industry, tourism and MICE, manufacturing and SEZ infrastructure, health, energy, water and blue economy. We focus on projects with strong jobs potential and clear bankability.

EDIC is not a direct lender. We structure opportunities and help mobilize blended finance from DFIs, banks, pensions, impact investors, donors, and CSR to reach financial close.

Share a short concept note with the problem, solution, site or asset, partners, and indicative budget. We screen for fit, then support concept development and early feasibility if it qualifies.

Pipeline curation, investor sounding, light financial and commercial prep, policy and incentive navigation, and coordinated government engagement to shorten time to investment.

Introductory scoping is usually at no cost; project preparation may involve cost-sharing or grant support. We use NDAs where needed and handle proprietary information confidentially.
